Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect for the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and Archbishop Jean-Marc Aveline of Marseille recently encouraged all Catholics to sign the “Healthy Planet, Healthy People” petition.

The prophetic leaders led by example, signing the petition at the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Congress in Marseille. Their actions should inspire Catholics around the world to advocate for the least among us by signing the petition.

Already thousands of Catholics have signed the petition and called on world leaders to set urgent and aggressive measures to protect our common home ahead of two vital United Nations summits – the Conference on Biodiversity (COP15) and the Climate Change Conference (COP26).

By signing the petition, Catholics also are lending their support to Pope Francis, who plans to attend COP26, which starts next month in Glasgow.
