The Laudato Si’ Circle of Perugia organized for the Season of Creation a program of events with a travelling tent throughout the month of September. The tent is travelling from the historical center of the city, to the commercial centers of the suburbs, to the parishes.
A great opportunity in view of two important United Nations summits. In October, the online portion of the United Nations Conference (COP15) on Biodiversity will take place. And starting next month, the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference will take place in Glasgow.
This is an opportune moment where we are called to raise a prophetic voice together to get out of this crisis better by collecting as many signatures as possible! Join us by signing the “Healthy Planet, Healthy People” petition today.
This year the proposed theme for the Season of Creation has been “A home for all? Renewing the Oikos of God.” As a symbol, the tent of Abraham was chosen, a tent that the Laudato Si’ Circle of Perugia thought to be itinerant and open on all four sides for a greater welcome, and so it was.
The center of Perugia was crowded with tourists, who sat under the tent during the hottest hours of the day to share, get to know each other and exchange ideas.
It has been very nice to reach people going about their everyday lives, in the squares, in places of commerce or spiritual life. And it has been very nice to involve those who make objects with recycled material, the catechists of the parish and friends.
