Pope Francis’ words on World Humanitarian Day

Today, Thursday, August 19, is World Humanitarian Day. In this regard, Pope Francis expressed himself on Twitter encouraging solidarity, justice and peace.

The Pontiff alluded to the climate emergency as the current phenomenon that “generates more and more humanitarian crises and the poor are the most vulnerable to extreme weather phenomena”.

As Christians, we are called to act, because we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of so many brothers and sisters who are affected by so many climatic catastrophes.

“Solidarity based on justice, peace and the unity of the human family is urgent,” said the Pope. Let us respond to his request: participate in the Season of Creation and raise your voice and that of your community.
