Are you wondering what COP30 is and how you can make a difference? COP30 isn’t just a meeting of world leaders — it’s a global gathering of people of faith, scientists, local communities, and activists who are coming together in the heart of the Amazon to act for creation.

This is a unique opportunity to live out our faith in a very tangible way: to turn Laudato Si’ teachings into action, to advocate for justice, and to stand in solidarity with the poorest and most vulnerable communities affected by climate change.

How You Can Be Part of the COP30 Journey

Even if you can’t travel to Belém, Brazil, there are many ways to participate:

  • Join the People’s Determined Contributions (PDC): Make a concrete moral commitment to care for creation — whether in your parish, school, or local community.
  • Pray and Reflect: Participate in spiritual moments like the Ecumenical Tapiri or virtual prayer gatherings, connecting with Catholics worldwide.
  • Amplify the Message: Share updates, resources, and stories about climate action within your community and social networks.
  • Learn and Educate: Use multilingual tools and resources from LSM to understand COP30 outcomes, the Global Ethical Stocktake, and how they relate to your faith.

By taking these steps, you become part of a global network of hope and action, helping the world respond to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor — just as Pope Leo XIV encouraged during the Raising Hope Conference.
