As part of the encounters that Laudato Si’ Movement is celebrating in its synodal road to 2025, the Polish Chapter held its national encounter. Being a member of LSM is an on-going adventure, and like every adventure, every experience that is lived is as important as the purpose of the mission itself.
From May 30 to June 2, some 20 participants, including animators and other members of the movement, met in Grzybowo, Poland, and enjoyed a variety of workshops, as well as moments of community, prayer and nature.
A space for encounter and reflection in the spirit of Laudato Si’ and Fratelli Tutti
Attendees participated in a series of activities that combined prayer, reflection and practical work. The mass, celebrated by the apostolic administrator of the diocese, Monsignor Wojciech Osial, was a reflection of the spiritual and practical journey encountered by members of the movement.
Although Laudato Si’ was the central focus of the activities, the encyclical “Fratelli Tutti” was also present, highlighting the importance of dialogue and fraternity in building a more just and sustainable world. The encyclicals point to integral ecology intrinsically linked to social justice and human development.
The participants explored the challenges in this mission, the ways to spread the message in their communities and in the Church in Poland in general, transforming these teachings into concrete actions.
A community of action
During the encounter, participants not only discussed theories and strategies, but also got involved in agricultural work, experiencing the importance of the connection to the land first-hand.
The spirit of community was palpable in every activity, from the shared meals to the work in the fields. This shared life experience reinforces the “culture of encounter” promoted by Pope Francis, where every interaction is an opportunity to grow and learn together.
Being part of the Laudato Si’ Movement means embarking on an adventure that goes beyond simple environmental conservation. It is a call to an ecological conversion to live more consciously and act with a greater purpose.
