Ten years ago, Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) began as a call to action—an invitation to care for our common home as Pope Francis called us. Today, as we celebrate a decade of impact, we recognize the countless members who have shaped this movement with their time, talents, and unwavering dedication.

Serving as a member of Laudato Si’ Movement  is more than an act of service; it is a transformative experience. It nurtures leadership, deepens our faith, and connects us with a global community striving for ecological justice. Through every campaign, every tree planted, every advocacy effort, and every prayerful gathering, members have been at the heart of our mission.

The Joy of Being a Member

Francesca Festa, from the Laudato Si’ Don Fabio Bianchi Circle in Lucca, Italy, shares her story about how being part of the Movement has changed her.

“Being a member teaches us to rediscover the true meaning of family—not just our own, but the human family. It is through service that we break free from isolation and reconnect with others, finding purpose beyond ourselves. In a world eager to overcome economic, cultural, and social barriers, we experience true freedom when we give our time, talents, and hearts to those in need.

At its core, being a member of LSM  nurtures values that shape us and our communities. It fosters solidarity, reminding us that we are not islands but part of a greater whole. It strengthens compassion, as we learn to see the struggles and hopes of others as our own. It cultivates responsibility, urging us to care for people and the planet with intentionality.

One of the most powerful aspects of being a member of LSM is its ability to connect generations. The alliance between the young and the elderly—spending time together, sharing wisdom, and offering support—strengthens the bonds that sustain our common home. Through intergenerational dialogue in the Laudato Si’ Circle of Lucca, we witness how listening, learning, and caring for one another become transformative acts.

Being part of Laudato Si’ Movement  is not just about what we do; it is about who we become. Through service, we rediscover the values of gratitude, joy, and shared responsibility that allow us to build a more just and compassionate world.”
