On Saturday, July 19, the Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) will host the Global Online Encounter, a historic gathering that marks the culmination of an 18-month global listening journey. This virtual event will bring together over 1,000 participants from more than 80 countries, uniting diverse voices from the Catholic climate movement to collectively discern the path ahead.

The Global Encounter is not only a moment for discernment — it will also serve as a celebration of 10 years of Laudato Si’ and LSM’s journey from a grassroots campaign into a global movement with ecclesial and institutional impact. The event will feature small group dialogues in multiple languages, testimonies from members around the world, live music, and a virtual commissioning ceremony to honor this milestone and look to the future.

Participants will engage in language-based working groups to reflect on global questions emerging from the Listening Process Report — a synthesis of insights collected during local and national encounters held since 2024. Key themes include institutional growth, deeper ecclesial integration, and socio-environmental transformation.

The input gathered during the Global Encounter, together with the Listening Process Report, will shape the Encounter Final Document, to be launched in December 2025. This document will serve as a cornerstone for LSM’s strategic planning and programming for the coming years, including an updated roadmap and implementation plans for 2026.
