One Week. One Action. A Global Catholic Response.
Each year, the global Church unites to celebrate Laudato Si’ Week — an annual moment of prayer, reflection, and concrete action inspired by Laudato Si’ by Pope Francis.
In 2026, from May 17–24, Catholics across continents will once again respond together — not just with words, but with action.
What is Laudato Si’ Week?
Laudato Si’ Week is a global celebration commemorating the publication of Laudato Si’, the encyclical that calls humanity to care for our common home and embrace integral ecology.
It is more than an anniversary.
It is a renewed invitation to:
- Pray deeply
- Reflect honestly
- Act concretely
Every parish, school, university, hospital, movement, religious community, family, and individual is invited to participate.
Hope in Action
In a world facing ecological crisis and social fragmentation, hope is not passive optimism — it is a decision to act, and during Laudato Si’ Week 2026, Catholics around the world are invited to transform that hope into concrete steps for our common home, inspired by Laudato Si’ and lived through the global movement of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform.
The Core Invitation: Take One Concrete Action
The invitation is intentionally simple:
Choose one action. Make it count during this week.
That action might be:
- Reducing energy use in your institution
- Hosting a prayer service or dialogue
- Reviewing purchasing practices
- Beginning a long-term sustainability commitment
- Caring for a local ecosystem
- Engaging youth in ecological leadership
The power is not in perfection.
The power is in participation.

Why This Week Matters
As we read in Laudato Si’:
“Hope would have us recognize that there is always a way out… that we can always do something.” (LS 61)
Laudato Si’ Week transforms hope into visible action.
It reminds us that ecological conversion is not abstract — it is lived through daily choices, community commitments, and institutional courage.
One parish decision.
One school initiative.
One family change.
Together, they become a worldwide testimony.
Don’t Let This Week Pass Without Taking One Step
Laudato Si’ Week 2026 is not about doing everything.
It is about doing something — together.
