January 17, 2026
As the Laudato Si’ Movement enters its 11th year of walking with the Church and the world, we invite our global family to gather online for a structured moment of prayer, reflection, and discernment—rooted in faith and oriented toward mission.
This Online Celebration is intentionally designed to help us pause together, remember where we come from, recognize where we stand today, and prayerfully embrace the path ahead.
A Prayerful Agenda for a Shared Journey
Inspired by Pope Francis’ invitation to
“look to the past with gratitude, live the present with passion, and embrace the future with hope,”
The celebration follows a three-part agenda, each moment will guide us through the spiritual rhythm of the Laudato Si’ Movement.
Opening & Welcome
We will begin by welcoming participants from across the world and placing our time together in God’s hands. This opening moment will set the tone for the gathering, inviting us into prayerful attentiveness and shared purpose as one global Movement.
🌿 Looking to the Past with Gratitude
In this first moment, we will remember and give thanks for the journey of the Laudato Si’ Movement over the past eleven years.
Through prayer and reflection, we will recall:
- Meaningful milestones and shared experiences
- The faith, courage, and commitment of members across continents
- The ways God has accompanied the Movement through growth, challenges, and transformation
This moment invites us to recognize gratitude as a spiritual practice—acknowledging that everything we are and have is a gift.
🔥 Living the Present with Passion
Turning to the present, this second moment calls us to reconnect with the heart of our mission.
Together, we will:
- Reflect on how care for our common home continues to shape our identity as a Catholic movement
- Renew our shared love for creation, the poor, and one another
- Reaffirm our commitment to live our faith through concrete action and community
This is a moment to listen deeply—to God, to creation, and to the global community we belong to today.
🌱 Embracing the Future with Hope
The third moment looks forward, inviting us to entrust the future of the Movement to God with hope and courage.
During this time, we will:
- Prayerfully present the key initiatives and priorities for 2026
- Reflect on the call to ongoing ecological conversion
- Invite each participant to discern how they are personally and collectively called to act
This moment reminds us that hope is not passive—it is a commitment to walk forward together in faith.
Closing Prayer & Optional Language- based conversations
We will conclude the global gathering with a shared prayer, asking for the grace to carry what we have received into our daily lives and communities. This sending forth affirms that our prayer leads to mission.
Optional Language-Based Gatherings
Following the main gathering, participants are invited to join optional breakout sessions by language (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French). These spaces allow for:
- Informal sharing and reflection
- Building relationships across the Movement
- Strengthening our sense of belonging and unity
