Global Day of Action for a Fossil Fuel Treaty

Join the Fossil Fuels Day of Action by organizing a concrete action with your community. Take guidance from the free resources available on the Season of Creation website. We suggest you look at the advocacy resources in particular.  Here are ways you can promote FFNPT during this Season of Creation 2024: - On the day of action, 21 September, get signatures for the FFNPT faith Letter with a tablet or iPad. - Share video messages from faith leaders and political leaders calling for other political leaders and other faith leaders to sign the FFNPT. - Organize a public action to bring attention to the petition, such as vigils calling on faith and political leaders to endorse the call for an FFNPT. - Encourage your leaders to attend the high level webinar on FFNPT in September to sign the treaty. - After the day of action on 21 September, celebrate faith leaders and poitical leaders who have endorsed the FFNPT during the Season of Creation and prepare for the COP 29 push - Sign the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty’s Faith Letter as an individual or as an institution to show your support

High-Level Webinar Concept The role of Faith Actors and Governments in ensuring a just energy transition and mitigating climate change through a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.  Despite the evidence, governments worldwide still plan to produce more than twice the amount of coal, oil, and gas, consistent with a 1.5°C world, according to the Production Gaps Report.
