As the world marks World Environment Day, many people will take action for our planet through advocacy, education, and sustainable living. These efforts are essential. Yet, as people of faith, we know that caring for our common home begins even deeper: in prayer.
On June 6, 2026, the Laudato Si’ Movement invites you to become part of the Creation Care Prayer Network, a growing global community united by a simple but transformative commitment: praying regularly for creation.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to ecological conversion in Laudato Si’, the Creation Care Prayer Network brings together individuals, families, religious communities, parishes, and movements who desire to place the care of creation at the heart of their spiritual lives.
The Importance of Contemplation
The Creation Care Prayer Network places special emphasis on contemplation as a pathway to ecological conversion.
Contemplation helps us encounter creation not as a resource to be used, but as a sacred gift to be received. It teaches us to listen to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor with attentive hearts.
Through contemplation, we learn to recognize God’s presence in all creation, deepen our commitment to justice, and discern how we are called to act in response to the ecological crisis.
In this way, prayer and action become inseparable. Prayer nourishes action, and action flows from prayer.
Becoming Part of a Global Community
Joining the Creation Care Prayer Network is simple, but its impact is profound.
Members commit to praying regularly for creation and receive the Monthly Prayer Guide and special prayer intentions throughout the year. They can also participate in global online prayer gatherings and share prayer requests with the wider community.
Over time, the Laudato Si’ Movement will also create a global map showcasing participating communities, highlighting the growing network of people praying for our common home across every continent.
Together, we become a visible sign of hope: a global community rooted in faith, united in prayer, and committed to ecological conversion.
