Let Justice and Peace Flow: Exploring Integral Ecology and the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty

The Holy See participates as a Member State at the UN Climate Conferences (COPs) since 4 October 2022. In response to the ecological crises, the Social Doctrine of the Church calls for a collective ecological conversion that includes policy changes at the international, regional and national governance levels.

This symposium event is part of a series of Catholic advocacy actions for governments to make bold decisions related to climate change mitigation, just energy transition, and integral human development. The manifesto resulting from this event, together with manifestos from Africa and Latin America, and the Caribbean, coordinated by the Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) together with partner Church organizations, will form a Global Catholic Letter addressed to the President of the forthcoming COP 28 climate summit, delivered with a message from the Holy Father in the Season of Creation 2023 themed ‘Let Justice and Peace Flow’.
