LSM is delighted to launch some new resources on contemplating with creation.

As Pope Francis has said, “The best antidote against this misuse of our common home is contemplation.”

Contemplation is at the heart of our ecological conversion. Contemplation helps us to cultivate this capacity to be present with love to what is before us – the song of creation, the cries of the earth and the poor, and God’s call to respond. Contemplation can help us to cultivate ecological virtues of gratitude, repentance, interior peace, humility, sobriety, and care that are found in Laudato Si’.

But what exactly is contemplation with creation, and how do you do it? These new resources aim to provide practical support to integrate contemplation with creation in our prayer and daily life.

  • A short video: “Why contemplation for creation?”
  • A guide on Contemplating with Creation
  • Guided meditations
  • Other resources including Laudato Si’ quotes related to contemplation with creation, recordings of webinars on the topic, and short guide

May these resources help us to deepen our contemplative way of being to hear God’s message in creation that together we might better care for our common home.

These resources were developed through the generous support of the Trust Fund for Meditation, a charitable foundation encouraging meditation, mindfulness and contemplative prayer.
