Celebration Guide and Social Media Kit launched with exclusive materials to prepare for celebrations.

A new edition of Laudato Si’ Week will take place from May 19-26. This year, dedicated to inspiring “a personal and cultural transformation in the midst of our ecological and climate crises”. To this end, a Celebration Guide has been launched along with a Social Media Kit with materials available for organizations and communities.

This year’s theme is “Seeds of Hope”, inspired by the Season of Creation 2024 symbol, “the firstfruits of hope”. The theme is accompanied by a guiding quote from Laudate Deum:“There are no lasting changes without cultural changes … and there are no cultural changes without personal changes” (LD 70).

The week’s Celebration Guide proposes daily actions such as inspiring ecological conversion, promoting sustainable transportation and food, reducing waste, and educating oneself on integral ecology, among other things.

Through inspirational quotes, practical activities and daily prayers, the guide is a valuable resource to inspire meaningful changes in people’s interaction with the environment. It aims to foster a deeper respect for creation, promote sustainable habits and deepen commitment to a lifestyle that respects the Creator’s handiwork.

In addition, the Social Media Kit provides materials for organizations and communities to implement it in their own channels: an LSW24 video trailer, an editable blog, designs to post on social media for eight days, and the copy that accompanies each post, along with the campaign hashtags.

Both resources are available in five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French, and can be downloaded free of charge from the Laudato Si’ Week website.

During Laudato Si’ Week 2024, which this year commemorates the 9th anniversary of the publication of the encyclical Laudato Si’ on the care of creation, Pope Francis’ message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation will be announced (as in previous years) on September 1, the first day of the Season of Creation
